At the Financial Academy we are committed to building young leaders in the community and helping youth learn and develop skills that they can build on for the rest of their lives. We are also committed to helping youth apply for and land jobs, and we know one of the most important prerequisites for a job is experience. But how do you get this experience at a young age? Our Young Leaders Summer Camp Program for kids age 13-18 has been designed to provide volunteer and leadership experiences for our participants. Our young leaders will be exposed to volunteering in a variety of different settings and planning community events, all while developing teamwork skills and having a great time with their peers.
Each camp session our young leaders will be exposed to three different volunteer opportunities, which will give them their required high school volunteer hours, help build and boost their resumes and/or future post-secondary school applications, as well as expose them to a variety of areas to see what interests them for their futures. Our young leaders will also be working on a community leadership project each session, as well as attend a fun group trip and networking event!
